EGLS of 72

Fine Fine Day

It was a fine day for a reunion, last Tuesday. Five EGLS '72 mates arrived at Eric's place for food and fellowship. Reminiscences brought smiles to all faces. In attendance: Eric, Mitch, Miriam, Todd and John. Also Eric's family, John's daughter, Miriam and Mitch's spice.
Picture books and a stray copy of our graduation service bulletin encouraged us to try to remember current facts about class members.
The very next day Mitch and John met up with Mary Lynn at the Dells. This was a surprise to John (who is, as you recall, ML's second cousin).
Next year, Eric says, we are going to double (at least) the turnout. Be there. Aloha.
Hey Mitch - is there any way we can post that picture of the five of us? Can you make me look way younger?

2008 reunion

Looks like we are going to try to get together in the July 14 - 16th. In an attempt to maximize participation, I thought we should start a blog thread to determine when, where and what we should plan. Should we plan something in the Elm Grove area? The Dells? La Crosse? Hawaii? or someplace else? Do we want to just plan a picnic kind of thing for an afternoon, or should we plan a few things over a couple of days? I am guessing that LA won't want to make the trip to Wisconsin for just a two hour lunch. Let me know what you think and where and when you will be available. Once we have some input here, we can put some plans together. Be sure to pass this info on if you know any others from our class. The more the merrier as they say. - Mitch

I asked about music a while back. Now how about reading? Tell me what I should read.
Assume that I'm already reading the Bible (which I am). Then again, if you have a specific part of the Bible to bring to my attention, tell me about that. I never would have noticed the last few verses of Habakkuk if they had not been pointed out to me by a friend.

We are between generations. Those who went before us often did it without learning to text, blog, email, and all forms of whatnot. Those who follow us don't have the word "phonograph" in their vocabulary; some have never seen, much less used, a dial phone.
In college, I thought:
1) I would never have any money, so financial planning/theory was a waste of time;
2) I would not become dependent on technology.
As to the first, I do have a little now, and hope to use it up during whatever life I have left.
As to the second, I honestly do not know to what extent I can cut the wires. Most of my work and entertainment involves electrons coursing through copper. Hmm.

For our next question on the EGLS '72 blog, tell us one thing about you, your life, or your path that none of us (possibly even you) would have guessed. We all thought we knew you pretty well by the eighth grade. So what have you done that would surprise all of us?
Second, tell us something about you that no one else knows (you may make an exception for those closest to you, your spouse, e.g., who know everything - or do they?).
