Wildcat surprise

For our next question on the EGLS '72 blog, tell us one thing about you, your life, or your path that none of us (possibly even you) would have guessed. We all thought we knew you pretty well by the eighth grade. So what have you done that would surprise all of us?
Second, tell us something about you that no one else knows (you may make an exception for those closest to you, your spouse, e.g., who know everything - or do they?).
